A Call to Serve Others
At First Congregational Church of Ramona, we believe that one of the most profound expressions of our faith is serving others. Jesus’ teachings are clear: our love for God is demonstrated through our love and service to our neighbors.
In Matthew 25:35-40, Jesus speaks directly about the importance of serving others:
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me... Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
These verses remind us that when we serve others, we are serving Christ. It is through these acts of kindness and compassion that we truly "live a life of love" as Jesus commanded us.
At First Congregational Church of Ramona, we are committed to embodying this teaching. Our various outreach programs, mission projects, and small groups are all driven by our desire to make a positive impact in the lives of those around us. Whether it’s feeding the hungry, providing clothing and shelter, or offering a listening ear, we strive to meet the needs of our community with love and humility.
In Galatians 5:13, Paul exhorts us, “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” This scripture calls us to use our freedom in Christ to serve others, highlighting that true freedom is found in love and service.
As we continue our journey of faith together, let us remember that our acts of service are a reflection of Christ’s love in us. We invite you to join us in our mission to serve our community and to "live a life of love" every day. Together, we can make a difference, showing the world that love is more than just words—it is action.
