First Congregational Church of Ramona is thrilled to announce an extraordinary event for our community! On Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 3:00 p.m., we will host the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Choir of San Diego for an unforgettable afternoon of music, inspiration, and community spirit. This free concert will take place in our Sanctuary and will be followed by a reception with refreshments in Pilgrim Hall. All are warmly invited to join us for this special occasion.
The Martin Luther King Jr. Community Choir of San Diego, also known as the MLK Choir, is a renowned, multicultural, all-volunteer choir that celebrates the rich history and legacy of African American gospel music. Through their powerful voices and uplifting performances, the choir seeks to promote unity, diversity, and the timeless message of justice and love embodied by Dr. King. Their concerts are a moving experience, blending traditional gospel with contemporary arrangements, and they have captivated audiences locally and beyond.
This is a unique opportunity for the Ramona community to experience the transformative power of music that transcends boundaries and brings people together. The concert will be a celebration of hope and harmony, open to all regardless of background or faith tradition. Whether you are a long-time fan of gospel music or simply curious to experience its joy and inspiration, you will not want to miss this event.
After the concert, everyone is invited to Pilgrim Hall for a reception featuring light refreshments. This will be a wonderful chance to meet the choir members, connect with neighbors, and reflect on the themes of the performance.
Mark your calendars and spread the word—this is a free event and all are welcome! Let’s come together as a community to celebrate the enduring legacy of Dr. King through the universal language of music.
