Children’s Ministry

Nursery Ministry

6 weeks - 3 years

At FCC of Ramona, the purpose of the Nursery Ministry is to come alongside parents as they seek to raise their children in the love of Christ.  We seek to provide opportunities for children to be nurtured in God’s love, be involved in fellowship, and grow in their faith. The nursery is available during the 10am worship gathering every Sunday and it’s located in the education wing of the church.

“We will tell the next generation the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord, God’s power and the wonders God has done…so that the next generation would know them. Even the children yet to be born…and they in turn would tell their children” Psalm 78:4b, 6a

Weekly Sunday School

We offer Sunday School for children age 3-5th grade every Sunday during our 10am worship service in the education wing of the church.

We teach using Bible-based lessons that include Bible stories, crafts, games, and prayer. We focus not only on the Bible stories themselves but also on how to apply these truths to their lives.

Children’s Choir

Our Children’s Choir rehearsals are on Wednesday afternoons. We have a ton of fun and we actually learn a lot about music! It’s a great opportunity to learn, make friends, perform, and sing to God! To sign up, contact our Children & Youth Choir Director, Emily Whigham, at cychoir@fccramona.org.

V.B.S.

Vacation Bible School is an outreach to the children of Ramona offered each summer.  We usually serve 100 children preschool-age through 6th grade.  Kids will engage in music, Bible stories, crafts, games, Science and Snack. This tremendous outreach utilizes about 40-50 volunteers. Additionally, members and attendees of the church donate at least half of the supplies needed to make this event a success.   Click here for information about this year’s VBS!

Promotion Sunday

Our 1st graders very much look forward to Promotion Sunday each June when they receive a Bible of their very own.  In this very special service, the children are presented their Bible in front of the congregation so that our families can share in this special moment.

Other Events:

  • Rally Day - Welcome Home –  Children and families are welcomed back in September after many have travelled over summer each year.  We welcome our church family to register for Sunday school and enjoy fellowship together at the beginning of the school year.

  • Palm Sunday Easter Egg Hunt – Following our Palm Sunday service, we hold an annual Easter egg hunt for the children many times accompanied by a lunch and fellowship with the families in attendance.

  • Advent Workshop – Our church family join together to celebrate the season of advent by enjoying a meal together, singing Christmas carols, and creating Christmas crafts.
