First Congregational Church of Ramona was founded on April 24, 1898. On April 23, 2023, we will celebrate our church’s 125th birthday!!! First Congregational Church of Ramona celebrates it’s 125th Anniversary on April 24th. Celebrations will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2023.
We will begin our festivities with a Historian’s Open House on Sunday, April 23, 2023 from 8:30am until 9:30am with our resident Historian, Susan Ruputz. Please stop in for self-guided tours to enjoy the beauty and divinity of our church campus.
We’ll have Worship Services following our open house at 10am. Our church family will be welcoming home Rev. Alex Dreese, Pastor Emeritus, who will be preaching our Sunday sermon. Alex faithfully served this church from 1984-2008 and his legacy of leading with love is still a hallmark of who we are. Our combined choirs will delight us with a special performance as well, featuring a hymn sung at the first service in 1898.
Worship services will be immediately followed by the unearthing of our time capsule on the front patio. Afterwards, we’ll be gathering in our backyard for a special musical performance by the Ukuladies of Ramona, lawn games, catered taco lunch, dessert potluck and other celebratory reflections of our Church’s history, impact and grace to our church family and community of Ramona.
