Ashes

  • First Congregational Church of Ramona 404 8th Street Ramona United States (map)

On Ash Wednesday we remember our finitude. We remember that we came from the dust and we shall return to the dust and we turn to God for meaning and hope. A common practice among Christians throughout church history (since at least the 6th Century CE) is to place ashes on our foreheads as a physical reminder of our need for grace.

This Ash Wednesday, March 2, if you would like to receive ashes and spend some moments in prayer as a way of beginning the Lenten season, we invite you to come to our sanctuary any time between 7am and 9am. Our doors will be open.
