On Ash Wednesday we remember our finitude. We remember that we came from the dust and we shall return to the dust and we turn to God for meaning and hope. A common practice among Christians throughout church history (since at least the 6th Century CE) is to place ashes on our foreheads as a physical reminder of our need for grace.
This Ash Wednesday, February 22nd, if you would like to receive ashes and spend some moments in prayer as a way of beginning the Lenten season, we invite you to come to our sanctuary any time between 7am and 9am. Our doors will be open.
