About the Ramona Youth Collaborative
The Ramona Youth Collaborative is an ecumenical, cutting-edge, missional, three-year youth ministry program created and supported by a partnership of the four mainline congregations of Ramona—Spirit of Joy Lutheran Church, First Congregational Church of Ramona, Ramona United Methodist Church, and Saint Mary's In The Valley Episcopal Church. The initiative aims to bring the community together to reach the youth of Ramona with a message of radical hospitality, spiritual depth, love, and hope.
Position Title: Director
Reports To: Supervising Officer of the Steering Committee
Location: Ramona, California
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $70,000 annually

Position Overview
The Minister/Director will lead the Ramona Youth Collaborative, providing vision, leadership, and direction for youth programs that embody the values of radical hospitality, spiritual depth, love, and hope. This role requires a dynamic and passionate individual who can engage with youth, empower volunteers, and reach the wider community, fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment where youth can deepen their faith and exercise agency
Key Responsibilities
Program Development and Implementation
Develop and implement an engaging and relevant youth program that aligns with the churches’ values and goals.
Plan and coordinate regular youth events, activities, retreats, and service projects.
Leadership and Vision
Provide visionary leadership for the initiative, inspiring and guiding volunteers, youth, and the community.
Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all youth, encouraging their spiritual and personal growth.
Volunteer Coordination
Recruit, train, and support volunteers from the participating churches.
Develop volunteer roles and responsibilities, ensuring a well-organized and effective team.
Community Outreach and Partnerships
Build and maintain relationships with local schools, organizations, and community groups to promote the initiative and collaborate on youth-focused projects.
Represent the initiative at community events and in public forums.
Direct the Children’s Sunday School Program at First Congregational Church
Train volunteers and provide curriculum for the Sunday School Ministry
Attend FCC Ramona Christian Education and Spiritual Formation Board meetings.
Communication and Administration
Maintain regular communication with the steering committee, providing updates on program progress, challenges, and successes.
Manage the initiative’s budget in collaboration with the steering committee, ensuring financial resources are used effectively.
Oversee administrative tasks, including event planning, scheduling, and documentation.
Pastoral Care and Support
Provide pastoral care and support to youth and their families, offering guidance and counseling as needed.
Create a safe and supportive space for youth to explore their faith and personal challenges.
Qualifications
A degree in Theology, Divinity, Youth Ministry, or a related field is preferred, but not required
Demonstrated experience in youth ministry or a related field, with a proven track record of successful program development and leadership.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with youth and adults alike.
Passion for working with youth and a deep commitment to the values of radical hospitality, spiritual depth, love, and hope.
Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, church staff, and community partners.
Organizational and administrative skills, with experience in managing budgets and coordinating events.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
