Our Stephen Ministry program is beginning its 21st year of compassionate listening and support to Church members, friends, and those in our local community. A Stephen Minister is a caring Christian friend who listens, understands, accepts, and prays for care receivers who are working through a crisis.

Your Stephen Ministers normally meet weekly with their care receivers. They also normally meet twice monthly with a Stephen Leader for confidential supervision and continuing education. Supervision and continuing education ensure that your Stephen Ministers provide the highest quality distinctively Christian care possible to their care receivers. Your Stephen Ministers have adapted to the pandemic by doing more care and supervision by telephone.

Two new distinctively Christian caring relationships began in 2020. We are continually trying to be aware of people who could use this type of care in our church and community and could use the church’s support in making sure we are reaching out to those who could take advantage of our Stephen Ministry program.

I am happy to share that we have Gayla Hager planning to attend Stephen Ministry Leadership training this summer. After that, I am hoping that we can train more Stephen Ministers.

Thank you for your continued support of the Stephen Ministry program. As a ministry of encouragement and support, the Stephen Ministry program exemplifies FCC’s mission of “Living a Life of Love”.
